Marimba weekend and homemade icecream
On the long weekend Marlon (my son) and I, together with my good friend Fatima and her son Oscar, performed as a quartet at the Maleny Wood Expo. Over the past month or so we had gotten together twice to study in 6 pieces on marimbas and this last weekend was our first performance (and second, third and fourth…). It went really well with lots of positive comments from our audience, we even had some dancers! This was definitely the birth of a new band, we got another two possible gig offers from audience members and all of us are keen to get some more tunes together!

Yesterday we had a lot of cream from the cows, so I decided to make icecream. I mixed the cream with eggs, cacao nibs, honey and vanilla, then put it in the freezer where it was stirred every few hours. I am saving it for a weekend treat!
- Cream, eggs, cacao nibs, honey and vanilla to make homemade icecream
- The end product to be frozen, stirred and frozen again…
I am also preparing to go to Brazil in about 10 days, where I will be playing with the Pyrophone Juggernaut at the Virada festival in Sao Paolo. Looking forward to spending time playing music with my friends over there, it is fantastic when you can do something you love with great people!
