Permaculture Blitz Teams

Apply for Blitz Teams here

To cater for the demand for short term volunteer or wwoofing positions, we are have devised the concept of Blitz Teams. These teams work 4-6 hours per day. You will arrive on a Sunday to start on Monday morning. Sunday afternoon is orientation, where you will be shown what needs to be done to make everything run smoothly, how to light the fires for your cooking (rocket stoves) and hot water and where things are located. We will dedicate one or more projects to the Blitz Team, who will work on that project for the whole week. You will learn a lot about the project you will be doing in that week. Projects you may be involved in are Syntropic Systems set up, planting and maintenance, Natural Building projects (working with adobe, mudbrick, recycled timbers and other natural materials), Permaculture garden maintenance, food forestry, swale implementation and more.
Blitz Teams run from Monday to Friday. You can stay for more than one week if you like, but if you would like to stay longer than 4 weeks we would recommend you apply to volunteer instead. Locals can also come for one or a few days instead of the whole week.

You will need to cater for yourself (some produce may be for sale from the farm, your other food needs will need to be brought in by you) and stay in your own accommodation (tents, vans etc). Please note that we try to minimise single use items and plastic waste, so please buy consciously. The Kin Kin general store sells bulk items, which you can purchase and put into paper bags.  You will have access to a shared shower, composting toilet, common room (indoor/outdoor space) and kitchen with rocket stove and rocket oven, a fridge and dry storage space. We recommend you bring your own plates, bowls, cups and cutlery.

During your time with us you can use our swimming pond (no diving), make use of the beautiful Noosa trail network which is just down the road, drive to the Noosa beaches (around 40 mins by car), visit lake Cootharaba, the Eumundi markets, Rainbow Beach and much more! (Having a car or hitchhiking required for most of these activities).

To make the farm a pleasant space for everyone we do not allow any drugs, alcohol, chemicals or cigarettes on the property. We also do not allow any intoxication of any kind. Please check any soaps, shampoos and toothpastes you bring, whether they have any sulphates or other nasties. If unsure, please ask, we usually have spare soaps, shampoos etc available for use on the property.

There is no internet access (WIFI) on the property. If you need to be in contact with family or friends via internet or phone, please purchase a SIM card with data on the Telstra network (Telstra or Belong are the best ones and work on the property, other cheaper ones may not work here as we are remote rural).

Please be aware that animal processing for consumption may occur during your time with us. Please do not apply if you have any objections to this activity.

Please read the Memorandum of Understanding and our Terms of Service. If you apply for a Blitz Team position with us, you agree to the MOU and TOS by ticking the box and submitting your application.
