Healthy plants in healthy soil
Here is a message my 11-year old son gave me when he got inspired to write something at the “Let’s Connect” day in Beerwah. The day was great, wonderful to meet up with so many like minded people. Hopefully it will be an annual event! And it is obviously not just inspiring adults…
” Hi, my name is Marlon, I am here to talk to you about Organic Gardening. What does organic mean? Organic means that the crops have not been sprayed with even the slightest bit of chemicals. Organic crops are non-toxic, which makes the food healthy. Also, organic crops are much more tastier. Come to think of it, no offence, but we are the dumbest creatures on earth. Even guinea pigs or chickens can tell the difference between GMO or chemicalised foods to the organic or home grown. If you don’t want to eat GMO or chemicalised food, start turning your brains on! Make your own organic garden in your backyard. It will help you and your family with staying well and not getting sick. In fact, it will help everybody!

Zaia grew up in a family of musicians in Holland, and has a background in top sport (snow skiing) and web development and design. She co-founded the PRI Luganville and PRI Sunshine Coast Inc (now PermEco Inc.) with Tom, and runs the “invisible structures”, like finances, business administration, website design and maintenance, writes articles and records and edits videos. She assists Tom in running the Kendall Permaculture Farm and supervising other volunteers. She is an active member of several musical projects and bands, involved in community music and runs percussion and marimba workshops, is the percussion leader for the Woodford Folk Festival People’s Orchestra and composes as well as plays music.
