First Syntropic harvest!
This morning, 3 weeks after planting out our first Syntropic section, we harvested the first of the produce from that section. 1.9kg of radish was harvested, and that was probably only half of what we had planted. The remainder is still a bit small and will be harvested in the next couple of weeks.
- The produce is starting to take off!
- Tree row, slower growing
- This morning’s harvest
- Looking good!
As you can see from the photos, the lettuces are really starting to take off. We expect to harvest them in the next couple of weeks.
We are now planning the next section. In total we will have 4 sections to start with, 1 with 3 veggie rows and 3 with 4 veggie rows. The next section has been dug, fed and mulched and is awaiting the seedlings for us to plant…
The Syntropic section of the Farm will function as a market garden, with produce grown here supplied to local stores and co-ops. Once production becomes regular, we hope that local people will want to buy from us as well! Stay tuned to our website for more updates!
