Thanks and farewell to Zaia Kendall
We would like to express our sincerest thanks to Willa Sevenstern (also known as Zaia Kendall, now reclaiming her birth/maiden name), who is leaving Permeco and the Kendall Permaculture Farm. We thank her for everything she has done for Permeco: all her work in setting up Permeco (initially as the Permaculture Research Institute Sunshine Coast in 2012) with all the administration involved, taking and processing course bookings, organising students, volunteers, curricula and certificates, bookkeeping, creating and maintaining this website (including recording and editing most of the video material, writing articles and recipes, putting the courses online and creating all the website functionality), the social media side of things, many years of cooking for students and volunteers, running and organising courses and events, booking consultations, organising research projects and much more. As well as all the support she has given Tom on the Kendall Permaculture Farm over the past 20 years in helping to set up the demonstration site and permaculture systems, and functioning as Tom’s PA, consultant/advisor and promotional agent. Her work and input has been invaluable and is the reason Permeco is what it is today. We wish her all the best in her future endeavours!
Please bear with us during this transition.
Message from Zaia
I would like to thank all our volunteers and students over the years, and all the support we received from so many of you. I have enjoyed the courses and events we have run on the farm immensely, and am deeply saddened by the turn of events which has caused me to have to reconsider my involvement in Permeco and the Kendall Permaculture Farm. Thanks also to Tom, for all the amazing years of simple living, the space we built here together and the years we invested in people and the environment.Â
I hope my contribution has been of benefit to you, our students, volunteers and supporters, and that you all may continue to benefit from the work I have put into this website and the farm. I am unsure of my path forward, but maybe our paths will cross again in the future.
Many thanks,
Willa (previously known as Zaia)
