Pigs Repairing Soil!

On the weekend we went on a property tour of Phil,  a guy farming pigs. He also uses cows to manage the system. The photo shows the fenceline adjoining the neighboring farm. The neighbor on the left runs cattle. There is such  marked difference in the pasture type. Phil has  designed a system that is decompacting the soil   and improving the pasture with a “stocking rate” of 8-10 times the neighbour. IMG_1262[1]

I have seen where pig farming has done a lot of damage to the soil and caused a lot of erosion however this innovative system is quite impressive and has opened up a lot of ideas and thought. Well done Phil, I love it.

In case your wondering, its all in the rotation!

cheers Tom
