SUMMARY:2 week Residential Permaculture Design Certificate course
DESCRIPTION:Permaculture Design Certificate Course\nLearn Permaculture on a Self Sufficient Permaculture Farm in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland\nWorld renowned 72 hour Permaculture Design Certificate course\, a high quality 2 week course run by us since 2012 on the self sufficient Kendall Permaculture Farm in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.\nSliding scale\, instalment & hardship plan payments available!\nSliding scale from $375 (hardship) to $1\,500 for the full 2 week course\,\nincludes camping\nThe Permaculture Design Certificate is a 72 hour theoretical course based on Bill Mollison’s Designers Manual. It teaches how we can use today’s tools and technology to create a more sustainable and equitable world for all species. Permaculture is more than just gardening\, it is a design system for a truly sustainable and self sufficient lifestyle. The course is run by PermEco Inc. and is taught by international permaculture teacher and consultant Tom Kendall. Your Permaculture Design Certificate is recognised and well regarded world wide. Our residential course (at Kendall Permaculture Farm) is capped at 20 students\, depending on Covid regulations. \nWe involve our residential Permaculture Design Certificate course students in some of the running of the farm and include a lot of hands on activities. As a Permaculture Design Certificate student you will be involved in the daily routines that come with running a Permaculture farm and living in a community style environment. This is why we limit our residential course intake to 20 people per Permaculture Design Certificate course only. Learn to milk a cow\, separate cream\, make butter\, cheese and yoghurt\, feed our biogas bio-digester\, look after chickens and goats\, see holistic animal management in action\, make compost\, survey the land for earth works\, eat healthy food produced on the farm and much\, much more! By involving our students in the daily runnings of the farm\, the learning experience during the 2 weeks will be enhanced\, as well as give everyone the feeling of belonging to a community and strengthening the bond of the group.\nWe are able to cater to individual needs of the students based on their travels of the permaculture journey. We have noticed a marked integration of the curriculum and concepts with the introduction of practical components. \n \nYou will be required to bring food to the farm for shared meals\, you may be able to purchase some farm grown produce during the course for meals. We will provide a schedule and divide the group into teams\, so that everyone will get a turn doing the various activities required to keep the farm and the temporary community running. Jobs will include fire lighting for hot water and rocket stoves\, emptying compost toilets\, animal feeding and care\, harvesting\, preparing meals etc. The middle weekend is time off. You may want to stay on the farm or you can enjoy some of the sights in the area like Noosa National Park and beaches\, lakes\, Noosa trail network\, Rainbow beach and much more. \n \nDuring the Permaculture Design Certificate course you will be immersed in farm activities\, from holistic animal management to feeding the biodigester\, cream separating to yoghurt making and compost making to food forest planting. As this is a working farm with a lot of systems\, everyone on the property can be fully involved in farm activities to get the most out of your stay at the permaculture farm and the Permaculture Design Certificate course. The practical activities also allow you to integrate the theoretical course material quicker. We ask everyone to arrive in the afternoon of the day prior to the course (Sunday)\, so that we can give you an orientation that day to make for a smooth transition into the course week. \n \nTom Kendall is a permaculture farmer with over 40 years farming experience. He is co-founder of the PermEco Inc and PRI Luganville\, Vanuatu and runs Permaculture courses on his Permaculture Demonstration Site Kendall Permaculture Farm. Tom has co-taught Permaculture Design Certificate courses with Geoff Lawton and has taught Permaculture courses in Australia and overseas. He has been a Permaculture Research Institute accredited teacher for 5 years and is part of our environmental advisory team and Geoff Lawton’s Permaculture Consultants team\, doing regular consultations for local and international land owners and NGOs. For complete bio click here. \n \nCamping accommodation is available (byo tent and camping equipment). A camp kitchen is available for students’ use. Toilet and shower facilities are shared. Showers are heated with a wood fired heating system\, which students will learn to light and look after. \nPlease note: \n\nTo provide an intimate\, high quality course with lots of practical experiences\, we can only take 20 students per course if the course is held at Kendall Permaculture Farm.\nOur courses are non-denominational; we do not include any spiritual practices and welcome people from all cultural\, spiritual and religious backgrounds. The course material is science and observation based.\nThe days will be long\, starting early mornings with practical experiences followed by all day classroom including some practical\, and finishing with regular movies at night to re-inforce material taught during the day.\n\nClick here to read student feedback. \n\n\n\nWe now offer sliding scale donation payments in full or in instalments through PayPal. Sliding scale donations offer a fair alternative to open donation payments for both parties. You can transfer your booking to another date if you are unable to make it to the date you booked for\, refunds will only be made in certain circumstances and there will be an administration fee charged. \nPlease read the Memorandum of Understanding and our Terms of Service. If you apply to do a course with us\, you agree to the MOU and TOS by ticking the box and submitting your application. \nThis year’s Residential Permaculture Design Certificate courses:  \n8 – 20 September 2024\, 9 – 21 March 2025 \nPlease book below and select the date option you prefer. SUMMARY:Music on the Farm with Linsey Pollak and Rob Longstaff
DESCRIPTION:A house concert at the Kendall Permaculture Farm Jindill shelter. Concerts are by donation\, pay what you can afford and all proceeds from the gate will go to the artists. Alcohol free event\, snacks\, coffee and tea will be available for gold coin donation.\nGates open 6pm\, music starts 7.00pm.\nLINSEY POLLAK \nYou close your eyes ….is it a saxophone\, a clarinet\, a flute\, an oboe? …..you open them and “WHOA!” …what you see are instruments made from paper\, cellotape\, a drinking straw\, a rubber glove and some garden hose.  \nLinsey makes music by live-looping self invented instruments such as a paper clarinet\, a drinking straw oboe\, a Cylisax\, a rubber glove bagpipe and “Mr Curly” (a contra-bass clarinet made from hose sounding like a 70’s synth). Using these instruments he creates layers of music which will have audiences either spellbound or bopping in their seats. He demystifies the process of musical instrument design and music itself\, but at the same time creates music that is (in the words of his YouTube viewers): “one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard”\,” the coolest thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life!”\, “the single most awesome instrument I’ve witnessed\, and I have the internet at my disposal.”  \nRECIPE: blend some vocal percussion with a bit of jawharp then add funky analog bass using ‘Mr Curly’. While that’s cooking make a clarinet from paper\, play and Loop some horn lines\, add it to the mix and turn up the heat.  \nROB LONGSTAFF \nRob Longstaff is a New Zealand born\, Australian bred\, Berlin based Pop/Soul/Blues musician\, globetrotter and adventurer. \nAfter working Australia’s tough but rewarding pub circuit\, Rob packed his bags for Berlin\, a city which he now calls home. In between his musical accomplishments Rob likes a challenge\, having now hitchhiked across three continents\, toured Indian and African orphanages and hospitals\, ventured to Antarctica and travelled overland from Berlin to Australia by bicycle\, train and ship. \nConvinced by the idea of slow travelling the singer/songwriter did the German release tour for his album „Boogaloo“ on a solar boat and took a trip through the US on a custom electric trike. He also has been experimenting with the tiny house and the zero waste food movements. \nPowerful vocals with humorous lyrics\, passionate guitar playing and charm make him a one-man-groove-machine that runs with or without amplification. \n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:5 weekend PDC course
DESCRIPTION:Permaculture Design Certificate Course\nLearn Permaculture on a Self Sufficient Permaculture Farm\nPRI accredited 72 hour Permaculture Design Certificate course\, a high quality course run by us since 2012 on the self sufficient Kendall Permaculture Farm. This course runs over 5 weekends and is by donation\, whatever you can afford.\nThe Permaculture Design Certificate is a 72 hour theoretical course based on Bill Mollison’s Designers Manual. It teaches how we can use today’s tools and technology to create a more sustainable and equitable world for all species. Permaculture is more than just gardening\, it is a design system for a truly sustainable and self sufficient lifestyle. The course is run by PermEco Inc. (previously known as  Permaculture Research Institute Sunshine Coast Inc.) and is taught by international permaculture teacher and consultant Tom Kendall. Your PDC certificate will be recognised and well regarded world wide. \nWe try to cater to individual needs of the students based on their travels of the permaculture journey. There will be some practical components in this course. \n \nDuring this PDC course you will be introduced to farm activities\, from holistic animal management to feeding the bio-digester\, from compost making to planting and more. As this is a working farm with a lot of permaculture systems\, introduction to the systems encourages better integration of the PDC course information. \n \nTom Kendall is a permaculture farmer with over 40 years farming experience. He is co-founder of the PRI Sunshine Coast Inc (now PermEco Inc.) and PRI Luganville\, Vanuatu and teaches Permaculture courses on his Permaculture Demonstration Site Kendall Permaculture Farm. Tom has co-taught PDC courses with Geoff Lawton and has taught Permaculture courses in Australia and overseas. He has been a PRI (Permaculture Research Institute) accredited teacher for 5 years and is part of our environmental advisory team and Geoff Lawton’s Permaculture Consultants team\, doing regular consultations for local and international land owners and NGOs. For complete bio click here. \n \nThis course runs over 5 consecutive weekends at the Kendall Permaculture Farm in Kin Kin. We ask all participants to bring their own food and snacks. Tea\, coffee and hot water will be provided. For those from further afield we can provide basic camping facilities for the weekend\, but you will need to bring your own food (fridge available). This PDC course is by donation\, whatever you can afford. Your donations will go towards maintenance of the Permaculture Demonstration and Education Site and will further the objectives of our not for profit organisation (please see home page for our objectives.) \nAll events by PermEco Inc. at the Kendall Permaculture Farm adhere to a Covid Safe event plan or Covid Safe Checklist. \n\n\n\n\n\nStay at home if unwell\nIf you become unwell during the course\, please see Tom or Zaia\nMaintaining physical distancing requirements is the individuals responsibility\n\nPlease do not attend this event if: \n\n\n\n\n\nYou have been in close contact with a person who is positive for COVID-19\nYou are positive for COVID-19\nYou have travelled overseas or to a declared COVID-19 Hotspot in the previous 14 days\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease note: Our courses are non-denominational; we do not include any spiritual practices and welcome people from all cultural\, spiritual and religious backgrounds.
