Music & Community Program

PermEco Inc. brings people from all walks of life together with music, arts and community events as part of their People Care ethic.

As the world becomes more challenging it is essential that people not only focus on creating solutions for a warming planet, but also become more closely connected to one another. Music and the arts have a way of connecting people by having fun and creating together. Science has now found that music has a range of positive benefits to people, and can improve health conditions like depression, alzheimers and a range of other conditions.

Events are run at the Kendall Permaculture Farm in the Noosa Hinterland town of Kin Kin, Queensland, Australia. We also visit schools (with the Hitty Hitty Bang Bang! project, click here for more info) and do workshops in other areas on request (click here to see our music workshops page). Events range from short workshops in music to multi day events with a range of workshops and performances. The music workshops we run enable people with no previous experience to create uplifting music as part of a group. Performances at the events are entertaining and uplifting and most aim to get people up to dance, another art form which encourages individual expression and communal bonding.

We have found that people form beautiful connections by bonding over music. It enhances the community being able to create uplifting music together with no previous experience required. Tribal communities always had a music and arts component to their every day life, a life which was as fulfilling as it could be challenging. We aim to create stronger, more resilient communities by providing them with the space and opportunity to bond over music and the arts.

Participants in our community events will be given feedback forms at the end of the event, asking what they got out of their participation, how we can improve and suggestions for other events. The information will be compiled and used to determine what events to run in the future and how to run them.
